Modeling scams and dubious practice.
weI have lost count how many times I have been ashamed of what happens in the modeling and photography world out there.
The word scam is a hard one to qualify, some of the practices are scams in as far as they do not admit to what they really are - often a way overpriced and poor photoshoot' s offering the dream of riches and fortune - industry training and more to those who wish to model. And they can be very clever about it - with multi internet ID's - false "feedback" and recommendation sites, and attacking any kind of oppossion.
Another practice to watch out for is that which purports to be one kind of shoot but actually is another.
This is often a trick used by the darker side of the adult shoot industry [ok porn] ....one common one is "life modeling shoot" or "physique shoot".
Now ok here then lies the problem I too do life modeling shoots and physiques shoots - see the confusion.
By the way one way they deal with those who get in their way is to rubbish other photographers/studio's, models etc.
For what we shall call vanity shoots - you know "be a model" but pay a lot for the experience you end up with often spending thousands - yes you read that right many do...and although the pictures may be technically fine they certainly won't bring you into the world of professional modeling unless by fluke or sheer hard work .
it should go without saying that for the latter always know who you are dealing with - check referances, other models [not feedback as that can be false] and the photographers/agents reputation.

Photographers like myself hate sharp practice, and you can always expect fair treatment from us.
We don't selll a dream, we tell it as it is, and strip away the perceived glamour.
Modeling, like acting and performance can be enormous fun, and for those with the right attitude very rewarding - but it will not get handed to you on a plate.....honest!!!
